Matthew stands as a distinguished leader in the landscape architecture realm, renowned for his exceptional creativity, artistic mastery, and profound commitment to sustainable design principles. He has been recognized for his innovative approach to creating sustainable and artistically captivating landscapes at all scales. This includes an entertainment hub in New York, a tech campus in Indianapolis, a collection of hotels and developments in Israel, towering residences in Miami, and the landscape for The Tianjin Juilliard School. His visionary approach and expertise continually shape landscapes that not only captivate aesthetically but also promote ecological harmony and community well-being.

Throughout his career, Matthew has demonstrated a remarkable ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to translate complex visions into reality. Whether working on large-scale urban developments, or small-scale amenity spaces, he approaches each project with a meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities presented by the site.

Growing up, Matthew’s passion for drawing and art drew him to design. Matthew began his career in architecture at SITE, learning the value of creating art-based landscapes from James Wines, an early mentor. Matthew also collaborated with Rem Koolhaas’ OMA / AMO in Rotterdam, producing a research installation focused on the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). Formerly the Design Director at Martha Schwartz Partners, Matthew combines all of these experiences to integrate nature and art, creating harmonious spaces around the globe.

Mathew holds a Master of Landscape Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture, from The Pennsylvania State University. Matthew is a registered landscape architect and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA).
